Teachers - Grade 6, 7
I am a Teetl’it Gwich’in from Teetl’it Zheh (Fort McPherson). Having grown up in a community myself, I am thrilled to be working in a community school. I graduated from the Yukon Native Teacher Education Program at Yukon College with an education steeped in northern culture and experience. I am passionate about the North and its people. I hope to create many opportunities within my classroom (and outside) to strengthen identity and northern connections to community, people and the land. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and attending community events. I also love being active and spending time outside. As a former yoga teacher, I love all things yoga - teaching, practicing and community. I am currently (re)learning Dinjii Zhuh Ginjik, the Gwich’in language, with my daughter. My language and culture keep me grounded in who I am as a Gwich’in woman. Most importantly, I am always exploring new ways to grow and be the best version of myself.
