I was born and raised in Northwest Territories; the North will always be my home. I received my education degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where I majored in elementary education and minored in Aboriginal education. After I graduated in 2013, I was offered an internship with the Government of the Northwest Territories. Fortunately, in 2014, I was offered a teaching position at the K’alemi Dene School as the Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten teacher. This opportunity has been such a positive experience and I love being apart of the KDS family.
I am a firm believer that all students have a right to a quality education and need take ownership of their learning. I also believe that a classroom should a fun, inviting and a safe place for the students to ensure maximum learning opportunities.
I have many interests outside of school. However, my number one interest would be my son, who also enjoys being a part of the KDS family. Together we enjoy swimming, going to the movies, and traveling.
